Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.

This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.

  • ReconstitutionReconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml containing 1% HSA or BSA. The solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4°C for 2-7 days or store at –20°C for future use. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HAS or BSA). Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.

  • FunctionNerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Inhibits metalloproteinase dependent proteolysis of platelet glycoprotein VI (PubMed:20164177).
  • Involvement in diseaseNeuropathy, hereditary sensory and autonomic, 5
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the NGF-beta family.
  • Cellular localizationSecreted.
  • Information by UniProt
