This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.
Reconstitute the lyophilized product in sterile 18MOhm-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Staphylokinase (SAK) is a 136-amino acid enzyme from Staphylococcus aureus. It is positively regulated by the "agr" gene regulator. It activates plasminogen to form plasmin, which digest fibrin clots. This disrupts the fibrin meshwork which can often form to keep an infection localized. Staphylokinase also cleaves IgG and complement component C3b, inhibiting phagocytosis.
