Essential component of the RMI complex, a complex that plays an important role in the processing of homologous recombination intermediates to limit DNA crossover formation in cells. The complex is therefore essential for the stability, localization, and function of complexes containing BLM. In the RMI complex, it is required to target BLM to chromatin and stress-induced nuclear foci and mitotic phosphorylation of BLM.
Belongs to the RMI2 family. Contains 1 OB DNA-binding domain.
Phosphorylated during mitosis.
Nucleus. Colocalizes with BLM at nuclear DNA repair foci.
The predicted molecular weight of RMI2 is 15 kDa (SwissProt), however we expect to observe a banding pattern around 18 kDa.
Abcam recommends using milk as the blocking agent (3%).
This blot was produced using a 10% Bis-tris gel under the MES buffer system. The gel was run at 200V for 35 minutes before being transferred onto a Nitrocellulose membrane at 30V for 70 minutes. The membrane was then blocked for an hour using 3% Milk before being incubated with ab108491 overnight at 4°C. Antibody binding was detected using an anti-rabbit antibody conjugated to HRP, and visualised using ECL development solution.
