RelevanceSLC26A2, or diastrophic dysplasia sulfate transporter, is a glycoprotein implicated in the pathogenesis of several forms of chondrodysplasia. This gene is implicated in sulfation of proteoglycans and matrix organization in the cartilage and may play a role in endochondral bone formation.
