Question 1

Tuesday 29-November-2011

Hi there, We have been working with ab15597 for a long time and always got good results (check my account to see how many I already purchased since last year only). However, we didn't get anything working recently, there is no signal for IHC, IF and CHIP even though we increased the amount of antibody used. For WB, the signal was so weak that we had to expose the film more than 30 min and got a very faint band, which usually only needs 30 seconds exposure to get a decent signal. I'll test the new lot antibody and let you know what we get.

ANSWER:

Thank you for providing more details. I have sent you a replacement antibody for ab15597 from a different lot as you requested. I hope that this new vial will work as stated for you. Your new order number is ********. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Question 2

Monday 28-November-2011

Hi there, We’ve been using this antibody for WB, CHIP, IHC and IF for a long time, but recently we have problem with it. The recent two we purchased on Oct. 15 and Nov.15 (order no. ********** respectively) didn’t work with all of applications. The lot number for these two antibodies are ***and ***. We didn’t change any experimental condition when used the newly purchased antibodies, nor the people who used them. We ask for a replacement for a different lot number product.  Thank you very much.   *

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam. I am sorry that you were having issue with ab15597. I was just wandering what the actual problems were in WB, IHC and ChIP. Were you seeing no signal of high background? I will be very happy to send you a new aliquot of ab15597, from a different lot but I just wanted to clarify exactly what the problem is. I look forward to your response and resolving this issue for you.

Question 3

Wednesday 26-October-2011

Phone call: Customer kindly asked if they can get small sizes of antibodies before buying the whole product.

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting us.

As discussed on phone we unfortunately do not sell small sizes of our products. The reason is that; we have over 70,000 products in our catalogue and having the small sized sample of each would be difficult to keep. However in order to help our customers we have extended our Abpromise guarantee.

As per our further conversation if you could get in touch again after selecting few products then I will certainly look into your request for further advice.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 4

Thursday 12-January-2006

Do you have any further information about the below enquiry?

ANSWER:

Thank you for getting back to me.

I am sorry that you have not received a response earlier. There must have been a problem with our system as I sent my reply before Christmas.

The immunogen used to raise BRM/ SMARCA2 antibody - ChIP Grade (ab15597) was a Mouse BRM/ SMARCA2 GST fusion protein derived from within residues 48-214 of the corresponding human sequence.

For further information please see Muchardt C et al. EMBO J 15:3394-402 (1996).

I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question 5

Thursday 22-December-2005

Hi Abcam,

We have bought the above antibody (ab15597). Would it be possible to have the Brm sequence that the antibody targets? We would like to use the antibody for purification on a protein G column and we need a peptide or protein that can compete off our target Brm protein.

Many thanks,

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

This antibody was raised as part of a collaborative project. We were supplied with a BRM-GST fusion protein. As yet I have not been able to determine whether it was a whole BRM protein or a portion of the protein. I am in touch with our collaborative contact to determine this information.

I appreciate your patience in this matter.
