Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab97950 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 7 kDa. Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.
IP Use at an assay dependent concentration. See Abreview.

  • FunctionSalivary protein that stabilizes saliva supersaturated with calcium salts by inhibiting the precipitation of calcium phosphate salts. It also modulates hydroxyapatite crystal formation on the tooth surface.
  • Tissue specificitySecreted by parotid and submandibular glands.
  • Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the histatin/statherin family.
  • Post-translational
Substrate for transglutaminase-2. More than 95% of the cyclized peptide is cyclo-statherin Q-37, and less than 5% is cyclo-statherin Q-39. Cyclized forms account for about 1% of total statherin in saliva.
    Sulfated on tyrosine residues.
  • Cellular localizationSecreted.

  • ab97950 Immunoprecipitating Stratherin, harvested synthetic protein from Human Tissue lysate. 20µg of Tissue lysate was incubated with primary antibody (1/200 in TBS buffer) and matrix (Protein G) for 24 hours at 4°C. For western blotting ab97950 (1/1000) was used to confirm successful immunoprecipation.
