Target

  • Relevance
    SUMO proteins, such as Sumo 2 and Sumo 3, post-translationally modify numerous cellular proteins and affect their metabolism and function. However, unlike ubiquitination, which targets proteins for degradation, sumoylation participates in a number of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. Sumo 2 and Sumo 3 are highly homologous, hence it is very difficult to produce antibodies which distinguish them.

  • Immunofluorescence staining of Sumo 2+3 in HeLa cells using Hoechst 3342 (Blue) for nucleus staining and ab104123 (1/500) with Texas Red (Red).
  • ab104123 staining Sumo 2+3 in colorectal cancer tissue by Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections). The sections were subjected to antigen retrieval in 0.1M citric acid. The primary antibody was diluted 1/50 and incubated with the sample for 2 hours at room temperature. Antibody was detected by DAB staining.
