Detects a ~18kD protein in WB, corresponding to predicted size of VAMP from human, mouse, rat, bovine, guinea pig, hamster, monkey, porcine, rabbit, sheep and Xenopus tissue. This antibody detects VAMP1 (amino acids 1-118) and VAMP2 (amino acids 33-96)-GST fusion proteins expressed in E. coli. No reactivity was seen with a ~18kD protein in mouse liver extracts.
The clone number has been updated from (4E240) to (SP10 ) both clone numbers name the same antibody clone.

Mice were immunized with synaptic vesicle containing fractions which were immunoprecipitated from human brain homogenates using anti-human synaptophysin monoclonal antibodies.
