  • Specificity
    This antibody is specific to an oncofetal antigen of >1,000 kDa known as tumor associated glycoprotein (TAG-72) or CA 72-4. This antibody defines the mucin carried sialylated-Tn antigen and stains the majority of human adenocarcinomas including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, ovarian, endometrial, mammary and non-small cell lung cancer.

  • Application notes
    This antibody has been pretitered and quality controlled to work on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded as well as acetone fixed cryostat tissue sections.
    No further titration is required.
    We suggest an incubation period of 30-60 minutes at room temperature.
    However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user.

      The majority of human adenocarcinomas including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, ovarian, endometrial, mammary, and non-small cell lung cancer display some cell populations that are positive for TAG72. About 60% of carcinoma patients express TAG72 in their sera. TAG72 is reportedly useful in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas from pleural mesotheliomas.
