To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hTGF alpha (0.5 ng/ml), a concentration of 2.5 - 2.7 µg/ml of this antibody is required.
Use at an assay dependent concentration.
To detect Human TGF-α by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μl/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/ml of this antibody is required. The antibody, in conjunction with biotinylated Anti-Human TGF-α ab83159 as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Human TGF-α.
Use a concentration of 0.5 µg/ml.
Use a concentration of 0.25 µg/ml.
FunctionTGF alpha is a mitogenic polypeptide that is able to bind to the EGF receptor and to act synergistically with TGF beta to promote anchorage-independent cell proliferation in soft agar.
Tissue specificityIsoform 1, isoform 3 and isoform 4 are expressed in keratinocytes and tumor-derived cell lines.
Sequence similaritiesContains 1 EGF-like domain.
Cellular localizationCell membrane and Secreted > extracellular space.
ab9585 at 0.25 µg/ml staining human breast invasive ductal carcinoma tissue by IHC-P. The antibody was incubated for two hours at room temperature. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval was performed with a pH 6.0 Sodium Citrate buffer.
