Relevance
The Thomsen Friedenreich antigen acts as an oncofoetal antigen, with low expression in normal adult tissues but increasing to foetal levels of expression in hyperplasia or malignancy. It is considered as a pan carcinoma marker. Can be applied for the detection of cells with TF antigen and is especially applicable for sensitive determination of neuraminidases. -
