ab112216 is strongly cytotoxic to Mouse thymocytes of all strains
ab112216 dilution which results in 50% cytotoxicity against thymus cells:
Treatment of C57BL/6 splenocytes with ab112216 plus complement resulted in a reduction in the number of plaque-forming cells. As assessed by a CTL assay, T cell function was essentially eliminated in both pre-sensitized and post-sensitized treated samples. These results are consistent with the removal of T helper and T cytotoxicity cell activity.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
1/20 - 1/5000. Use at 1/1000 for depleting a cell population of Mouse thymocytes.
Thymocytes are T cell precursors which develop in the thymus. The processes of beta-selection, positive selection and negative selection shape thymocytes into a peripheral pool of T cells that are able to respond to foreign pathogens and are immunologically tolerant towards self antigens.
