RelevanceTNRC6B belongs to the GW182 family. It contains one RRM (RNA recognition motif) domain. TNRC6B plays a role in RNA mediated gene silencing by both micro RNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs). It is required for miRNA dependent translational repression and siRNA dependent endonucleolytic cleavage of complementary mRNAs by argonaute family proteins. There are three named isoforms.

Immunofluorescence analysis of HeLa cells, staining TNRC6B with ab77218.
Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde, permeabilized with 0.5% Triton X-100 and blocked with 3% BSA for 1 hour at 23°C. Samples were incubated with primary antibody (1/500 in diluent) for 1 hour at 23°C. An FITC-conjugated goat anti-mouse polyclonal IgG (1/1000) was used as the secondary antibody.
