The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
Use a concentration of 0.5 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 76 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 76 kDa). Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.
Use a concentration of 4 - 8 µg/ml.
Use at an assay dependent concentration.
FunctionMay be involved in transcriptional regulation.
Involvement in diseaseDefects in ZNF81 are the cause of mental retardation X-linked type 45 (MRX45) [MIM:300498]. Mental retardation is characterized by significantly sub-average general intellectual functioning associated with impairments in adaptative behavior and manifested during the developmental period. Non-syndromic mental retardation patients do not manifest other clinical signs. Note=A chromosomal aberration involving ZNF81 is found in a severe mental retardation patient. Translocation t(X;9)(p11.23;q34.3).
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Contains 12 C2H2-type zinc fingers. Contains 1 KRAB domain.
