I have been having a look into suitable positive controls to be used with anti-14-3-3 antibody (ab14112).
It seems the protein 14-3-3 is highly expressed in brain tissue and this should therefore serve as a good positive control. I have found reference to spinal chord, hippocampal and brain tissue homogenate lysate being used for this purpose. If you do not have access to these tissues we have a number in our catalogue:

The recommended conc. of use is 0.1 - 1.0 ug/ml however we recommend using it at a different conc. for optimization purpose, e.g. even 5ug/ml or 10 ug/ml for best results.

Thank you for your enquiry. I received the following information from the source of the antibody: The detection of 14-3-3 protein in CSF should be relatively easy because of the lower total protein content than serum, ascite or tissue lysates. Indirect ELISA was performed using purified human 14-3-3 (isoform mixture). The antigen was serially diluted and coated onto microtiter plate wells. After blocking and incubation at 0.5ugml; the plates were developed using an HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG and TMB for color development. This antibody has been shown to recognize both alpha and beta isoforms of 14-3-3 and, on the basis of immunogen sequence homology, is expected to recognize the delta and zeta isoforms as well.
