Target

  • Relevance

HIV1 performs highly complex orchestrated tasks during the assembly, budding, maturation and infection stages of the viral replication cycle. During viral assembly, the proteins form membrane associations and self-associations that ultimately result in budding of an immature virion from the infected cell. Gag precursors also function during viral assembly to selectively bind and package two plus strands of genomic RNA. Capsid protein p24 probably forms the conical core of the virus that encapsulates the genomic RNA-nucleocapsid complex.

Question

My customer wants to start with immunoprecipitation. He uses HIV proteins. He wants to buy your products Ab85536 , Ab30956 and Ab66641. But at first he has some questions:

Ab85536- to what extent the clade B is specific? Is there any crossreactivity?

Ab30956-to what extent is this antibody specific?

Ab66641- to what extent the clade B is specific?

One of these antibodies is conjugated with His-Taq. What is better?Immunoprecopitation or isolation over the colony?

Do you have any special immunoprecipitation protocols?

Do you have protein A and protein G, that are used in immunoprecipitation?

Do you have some new products for immunoprecipitation for p55, glycoproteins gp41 and gp120?

Thank you for your answer, I hope everything is clear.

Best regards

Answer

Thank you for contacting us.

The answers to your questions are

Ab85536- to what extent the clade B is specific? Is there any crossreactivity?

A. We have note tested this antibody with HIV clade other than Clade B so unfortunately we are unable to share any data.

Ab30956-to what extent is this antibody specific?

A. We have note tested this antibody with HIV clade other than Clade B so unfortunately we are unable to share any data.

Ab66641- to what extent the clade B is specific?

A. We have note tested this antibody with HIV clade other than Clade B so unfortunately we are unable to share any data.

One of these antibodies is conjugated with His-Taq. What is better?Immunoprecopitation or isolation over the colony?

A. The immunogen of ab85536 is HIs tagged not the antibody. It will not affect the use of antibody in IP. You can certainly used this ab in IP.

Do you have any special immunoprecipitation protocols?

A. Customised protocols are not required for these product so lease try the standard protocols.

Do you have protein A and protein G, that are used in immunoprecipitation?

A. We have protein A ab7399, and protein G, ab73758 as proteins. These products are not conjugated to any bead. You may need to get protein A or protein G conjugated beads for IP. Please check the IP protocol for more info.

Do you have some new products for immunoprecipitation for p55, glycoproteins gp41 and gp120

We do not have anti p55, gp41 and gp120 IP tested antibodies. However this does not mean these can't be used. If you are interested in using these in IP then let me know you may be eligible for Abreview testing discount. Please click the link for more info;
