  • Function
    NAD-dependent protein deacetylase, which deacetylates the 'Lys-40' of alpha-tubulin. Involved in the control of mitotic exit in the cell cycle, probably via its role in the regulation of cytoskeleton.
  • Tissue specificity
    Widely expressed. Highly expressed in heart, brain and skeletal muscle, while it is weakly expressed in placenta and lung. Down-regulated in many gliomas suggesting that it may act as a tumor suppressor gene in human gliomas possibly through the regulation of microtubule network.

    Contains 1 deacetylase sirtuin-type domain.

Thank you for contacting us. SIRT6 The human, mouse and rat proteins are homologous in N terminal and central region of protein. So the antibodies available to these regions will most likely cross-react. ab62739, cross reacts with human, mouse and rat. Not yet tested in Immunohistochemistry.  ab105391, cross reacts with human, mouse and rat. Not yet tested in Immunohistochemistry. These antibodies are not yet tested in Immunohistochemistry. However this does not mean that these are not suitable for IHC it only mean we do not have tested data to confirm their use. If you are interested in testing one of these in IHC then let me know I will send you the Abreview discount code;  which states we will offer a next free antibody in exchange of an antibody review.    SIRT1 ab32441 and ab32424 These antibodies are tested in IHC so are fully guaranteed to work in IHC. The mouse and rat species is predicted which is based on sequence homology of immunogen between these species.
