    Abcam's Acid Phosphatase Assay Kit (Fluorometric) uses non-fluorescent Methylumbelliferyl phosphate disodium (MUP) as the substrate which has Ex/Em=360/440 nm when dephosphorylated by AP. The kit is an ultra-sensitive, simple, direct and HTS-ready fluorometric assay designed to measure AP activity in serum and other bio-samples.

    Acid phosphatases (AP) dephosphorylate phosphate groups from phosphate esters under acid conditions. Different acid phosphatase isozymes are found in different organs, and their serum levels are used as a diagnostic for disease in the corresponding organs. Elevated prostatic acid phosphatase levels may indicate the presence of prostate cancer and elevated tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase levels may indicate bone disease.

For Acid Phosphatase Assay Kit ab83370, the pH of the buffer prevents alkaline phosphatase from working (ALP can only function in an alkaline pH whereas AP works in an acidic pH) so you only measure AP activity.
Acid phosphatase (AP) can dephosphorylate MUP(4-Methylumbelliferyl phosphate disodium salt) to yield 4-methylumbelliferone, a fluorescent product, with Ex/Em at 364/448 nm (pH 10.3). The reaction can be stopped by 0.3M Glycine buffer.
ab83371 : Alkaline phosphatase(ALP) can dephosphorylate MUP(4-Methylumbelliferyl phosphate disodium salt) to yield 4-methylumbelliferone, a fluorescent product, with Ex/Em at 364/448 nm (pH 10.3). The reaction occurs in the presence of glycine. So having glycine as a component of the buffer, we eliminate AP activity and only measure ALP activity in ab83371.
