    Activation of long-chain fatty acids for both synthesis of cellular lipids, and degradation via beta-oxidation. Preferentially uses palmitoleate, oleate and linoleate.

    This antibody is predicted to recognize isoforms 1 and 2 of ACSL1. ab89854 detects a band at approximately 75-kDa in human liver and kidney tissue lysates. It is thought that this band corresponds to isoform 2 of the protein (SwissProt data).
