  • Relevance
ACTH occurs in cells of the anterior pituitary and in neurons in brain. It regulates the corticosteroid production in the adrenal cortex. Beta endorphin and Met enkephalin are endogenous opiates. MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) increases the pigmentation of skin by increasing melanin production in melanocytes.

Answer

Thank you for contacting us.

You can use any antibody however we will not be able to provide details about the purity of isolated protein.

The antibody ab2407 is in whole antiserum which means the concentration is not available so the optimization of the IP dilution would be necessary for better results.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Answer

We don't have an ACTH antibody that has been tested in Western blotting with mouse samples but please take a look at the online datasheets for the following antibodies, they are expected to work in most mammals: Ab8906, Ab8907, and Ab8615 Please let me know which you would like, or if you would prefer a refund.

Question
Answer

Thank you for your enquiry and for your patience. The originator of this antibody has told me that ab8906 has not yet been tested in Western blotting, only Dot blot and Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections). We thus do not have any information at this time for ab8906 in Western blotting. I have updated the online datasheet to remove Western blotting and I apologize for this mistake. I do believe that the ACTH band should be at approximately 43 kDa. I can offer you a refund for this antibody or another ACTH antibody if you you would like. Please let me know.
