Answer

Thank you for your enquiry.

In answer to your questions:

1. (+ -) - Norepinephrine(+) - bitartrate salt (SIGMA product CAS 3414-63-9)

Reviewing the details, it appears that this Sigma product and our product ab120717 L-(-)-Norepinephrine-(+)-bitartrate (Noradrenaline) are different. Our product is not racemic as it is made up of a single(-) enantiomer, whilst the sigma compound is a racemic mix with (+)- enantiomers..

2. (-) - Epinephrine (SIGMA product CAS 51-43-4)

I would appreciate if you are able to provide further information on how this Sigma product is going to be used with ab37091 Adrenaline (conjugated) antibody. I am sorry I am not able to provide information on whether these products are complementary without knowing how they are to be used together.

I hope this will be helpful. I look forward to hearing from you with further details regarding ab37091 Adrenaline (conjugated) antibody.

Answer

Thank you for contacting us. We do agree that Adrenaline is not a protein but a neurotransmitter(hormone). It is also correct that it is not possible to raise antibodies to neurotransmitters however by conjugating these to a carrier protein the host (in this case rabbit) is able to produce antibodies that are specific to neurotransmitter. Please see the following publication where specific antibodies to neurotransmitter were produced. http://www.pnas.org/content/81/12/3888.full.pdf+html I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
