  • Relevance

    This gene encodes a member of the C-type lectin/C-type lectin-like domain (CTL/CTLD) superfamily. Members of this family share a common protein fold and have diverse functions, such as cell adhesion, cell-cell signalling, glycoprotein turnover, and roles in inflammation and immune response. The encoded type 2 transmembrane protein may function as a cell activation antigen. An alternative splice variant has been described but its full-length sequence has not been determined. This gene is closely linked to other CTL/CTLD superfamily members on chromosome 12p13 in the natural killer gene complex region. [Entrez Gene]

  • Immunofluorescent analysis of 4% paraformaldehyde-fixed, 0.1% Triton X-100 permeabilized U937 (human histiocytic lymphoma cell line) and HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) cells labeling AICL with ab221158 at 1/100 dilution followed by Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) (ab150077) secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution (green).

  • AICL was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg of U937 (human histiocytic lymphoma cell line) whole cell lysate with ab221158 at 1/30 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab221158 at 1/500 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) (ab131366), was used for detection at 1/10000 dilution.

    Lane 1: U937 whole cell lysate 10 µg (Input). 

    Lane 2: ab221158 IP in U937 whole cell lysate. 

    Lane 3: Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab221158 in U937 whole cell lysate.

    Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST.

    Exposure time: 3 seconds.

    The expression profile observed is due to glycosylation as described in the literature (PMID: 23929856).

  • All lanes : Anti-AICL antibody [EPR22061] (ab221158) at 1/1000 dilution
