FunctionRequired for assembly and stability of the aminoacyl-tRNA synthase complex. Mediates ubiquitination and degradation of FUBP1, a transcriptional activator of MYC, leading to MYC down-regulation which is required for aveolar type II cell differentiation. Blocks MDM2-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of p53/TP53. Functions as a proapoptotic factor.

Predicted band size: 35 kDa
Paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue stained for AIMP2/p38 with ab228004 at 1/500 dilution in immunohistochemical analysis.
HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) cells stained for AIMP2/p38 (green) using ab228004 at 1/500 dilution in ICC/IF. Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 minutes.
Blue: Hoechst 33342 staining.
