Unfortunately,the immunogen used to raise the anti-ALDH1A1 antibody (ab63026) shares slightly more homology with the ALDH1A1proteinthan the antibody you were looking at originally (ab115252). Although the homology is low (64%, 9 out of the 14 residues of the immunogen match exactly) we cannot guarantee that no cross reactivity would occur as we have not specifically tested this. It seems that ab115252 may be slightly better to try in order to see if you would be able to differentiate between the two proteins.

The alignment of the immunogen used to raise the anti-ALDH1A1 antibody (ab115252) does indeed not share very high homology (61%) with the ALDH1A2 protein as can be viewed below:

However, as we have not tested the cross reactivity with the ALDH1A2 we would not be sure if it would be able to cross react. The only region which differentiates significantly between the two sequences is the N-terminal region (pleaserefer to the sequence alignment attached). We have one antibody which has been raised against a peptide taken from this region (ab63026). I am currently checking with the source of this antibody to see if this is likely to be able to differentiate between the two proteins. I will get back to you with this information as soon as I can.
