    Question

Please help with the following questions: What is the concentration of the antibody to bacterial alkaline phosphatase? Is this an affinity purified polyclonal? Are there ANY other proteins in the preparation?

    Verified customer

    Asked on Jun 17 2005

    Answer

Thank you for your enquiry. This product is sold as tissue culture supernatant and not affinity purified. As a tissue culture supernatant this product will contain additional proteins and the IgG concentration has not been determined. Typically IgG concentrations in tissue culture supernatant will range between 0.5 and 1 mg/ml. If you have any further questions then please get back in touch with us.

    Question

I saw an enquiry dated 7-Feb-2001 asking whether this antibody can detect secreted alk phos (SEAP). At the time, the answer was that you have no reports -- have you heard anything further about this application since?

    Asked on Sep 04 2002

    Answer

This antibody should detect SEAP from E.coli. It has not been tested for cross-reactivity in other bacteria and does not cross-react with AP from mammalian species.

    Question

We want to use alkaline phosphatase antibody to determine ALP releasing in periodontal cells (Osteoblasts, PDL fibroblasts and cementoblasts). Does Alp1-ab354 test ALP expression in bone-like cells by immunohistochemistry?

    Asked on Oct 31 2001

    Answer

No this antibody is not suitable as it does not cross react with the mammalian form of Alkaline Phosphatase. The immunogen is Alkaline Phosphatase from E.coli. We suggest you review our other alkaline phosphatase antibodies, many of which have been tested in IHC.
