  • Function

    Dioxygenase that mediates demethylation of actin monomethylated at 'Lys-84' (K84me1), thereby acting as a regulator of actomyosin-processes. Demethylation of actin K84me1 is required for maintaining actomyosin dynamics supporting normal cleavage furrow ingression during cytokinesis and cell migration. May be involved in transcription regulation.

  • ALKBH4 was immunoprecipitated from 0.35 mg of HEK-293 (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney) whole cell lysate with ab195379 at 1/30 dilution. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab195379 at 1/1000 dilution. VeriBlot for IP Detection Reagent (HRP) (ab131366), was used for detection at 1/10000 dilution.
    Lane 1: HEK-293 whole cell lysate 10ug (Input).
    Lane 2: ab195379 IP in HEK-293 whole cell lysate.
    Lane 3: Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) instead of ab195379 in HEK-293 whole cell lysate.
    Blocking and dilution buffer and concentration: 5% NFDM/TBST.
    Exposure time: 5 seconds.
