Function
Functions as actin-binding component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks. Seems to contact the mother actin filament. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the ARPC2 family. -
Cellular localization
Cytoplasm > cytoskeleton. Cell projection. - Information by UniProt

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence analysis of A431 cells labeling ARPC2 with ab11798 at 10 µg/mL (1 hour) showing cytoplasmic statining. Cells were fixed with paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.15% Triton. An Alexa Fluor 488 at 2 µg/mL was used as the secondary antibody. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Negative control: Unimmunized goat IgG (10 µg/mL) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/mL).
