    Anthrax toxins are composed of three distinct proteins, a protective antigen (PA), a lethal factor (LF) and an edema factor (EF). None of these proteins are toxic by themselves and several studies indicate that the anthrax toxin has the familiar A-B enzymatic binding structure, with PA acting as the binding domain and EF and/or LF acting as the active fragments.

We have a pair of antibodies anti-Anthrax PA for sELISA : - ab8240 that can be used as capture antibody - ab1990 that can be used as detection antibody (conjugated HRP) I hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for your enquiry. We unfortunately do not have information on the exact domains that these antibodies bind to. For clones BAP0101-BAP0106 all recognize both full size (83kDa) and cleaved (63kDa)protective antigen. The antibodies can be divided in 3 groups based on the epitopes they recognize, all groups have different pattern of protein band staining in Western blotting. Group 1: BAP0101, BAP0102, BAP0106 Group 2: BAP0105 Group 3: BAP0103, BAP0104 If I can obtain any additional information, I will let you know. Have a great weekend!

They recognize both 83 K and truncated 63 K forms of protective antigen. Unfortunately we have not determined the epitopes more specifically. We do not routinely offer free or trial sized samples for testing purposes.
