Question (74447) | Anti-beta III Tubulin antibody [2G10] - Neuronal Marker (ab78078)

Go to datasheet (ab78078)

Question

Does this antibody recognize post-mitotic neurons as well as neurons that are still undergoing mitosis?

Answer

To the best of ou rknowledge, beta III tubulin gene expression is activated in neuronal cells during/after the last mitotic event. Thus, beta III tubulin expression (detectable via the 2G10 antibody) would only be expected in terminally differentiated neurons.
