    Question

I see that you stock the following antibody:

    Anti-IP10 antibody [6D4] (ab8098)

I would like to use this antibody to stain for mouse CXCL10 using flow cytometry.

Your technical info states that this antibody cross reacts with mouse, and I was wondering:

1.) What evidence you have to back this up?

2.) Whether the same clone, but which is biotinylated, should also cross react with mouse CXCL10 (Anti-IP10 antibody [6D4] (Biotin) (a b8099))? I note that the technical sheet for the biotinylated version of the same clone does not list mouse cross reactivity.

    Kind regards,

    Answer

    Thank you for contacting us.

We got the information for mouse cross-reactivity from one of the references (PMID: 16721359) for this antibody, but haven't tested it ourselves. However, as both Flow Cytometry as well as mouse are listed as tested, you are 100% covered by our Abpromise guarantee.

The biotinylated version of this antibody in our catalog is simply not as well described as the non-modified version, but as they are derived from the same clone, the modified antibody probably works in mouse as well..

For your information, here is the note regarding theprotocol for intracellular staining: "activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells were fixed with 2% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.5% saponin. All steps were performed in presence of 0.5 M EDTA to avoid cell aggregation".

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
