  • Description

    Biotin Rabbit polyclonal to RFP
  • Host species

    Rabbit
  • Conjugation

    Biotin
  • Specificity

ab34771 recognises RFP. The antibody is predicted to react with all RFP variants from Discosoma (including DsRed, TdTomato, mOrange etc.) based on sequence homology and polyclonality of the antibody. However, such crossreactivity has not been QC tested.

Target

  • Relevance

Fluorescent proteins have become a useful and ubiquitous tool for making chimeric proteins, where they function as a fluorescent protein tag. Typically they tolerate N- and C-terminal fusion to a broad variety of proteins. They have been expressed in most known cell types and are used as a noninvasive fluorescent marker in living cells and organisms. They enable a wide range of applications where they have functioned as a cell lineage tracer, reporter of gene expression, or as a measure of protein-protein interactions.

Question

According to the data sheet, this antibody is conjugated with Biotin. But if I look at Abreviews, it says all procedure use Biotinylated Goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) as a secondary antibody. What does this mean?? I am thinking to use Strepavidin 594 as a secondary antibody. Does anybody have tested this antibody for fluorescence-immunohistochemistry? My samples are PFA-fixed and paraffin embedding. Thank you so much

Answer

I agree the review information is confusing. But I have confirmed ab34771 is biotinilated. ab34771 has been tested in paraffin-embedded, formalin fixed sections as indicated by the 'IHC-P' noted in the 'Tested applications' section of the online datasheet. I hope this is helpful. Please contact us again if you have any further questions.
