Relevance
Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), an enveloped RNA virus from the Rhabdoviridae family, is released from the plasma membrane of host cells by a process called budding. The glycoprotein (VSV-g) contains a domain in its extracellular membrane proximal stem that appears to be needed for efficient VSV budding. -
Alternative names
- Vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein tag antibody

ab34774 staining VSV-G tag in human HeLa cells by Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence. The cells were paraformaldehyde fixed, permeabilised in 0.025% Triton-X in PBS and then blocked using 5% serum for 1 hour. Samples were then incubated with primary antibody at 1/200 for 16 hours at 4°C. The secondary antibody used was a goat polyclonal conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488 (green) used undiluted.

Both lanes are ab34774 at a 1/500 dilution plus 20µg of whole cell lysate prepared from HeLa cells transfected with VSV-G. A Streptavidin HRP conjugate was used at a 1/2000 dilution.
Primary antibody incubated for 16 hours at 4°C.Blocking step performed using 5% milk for 1 hour at 23°C. -
ab34774 detecting the VSV-G tag in HeLa cells expressing VSV-G by direct ELISA. Samples were blocked with 5% BSA for 1 hour at 23°C and incubated with the primary antibody (1/3000 in blocking buffer) for 16 hours at 4°C. An undiluted streptavidin-alkaline phosphatase conjugate polyclonal was used as the secondary antibody.
