Reproducibility is key to advancing scientific discovery and accelerating scientists’ next breakthrough.

Abcam is leading the way with our range of recombinant antibodies, knockout-validated antibodies and knockout cell lines, all of which support improved reproducibility.

We are also planning to innovate the way in which we present recommended applications and species on our product datasheets, so that only applications & species that have been tested in our own labs, our suppliers or by selected trusted collaborators are covered by our Abpromise™ guarantee.

In preparation for this, we have started to update the applications & species that this product is Abpromise guaranteed for.

We are also updating the applications & species that this product has been “predicted to work with,” however this information is not covered by our Abpromise guarantee.

Applications & species from publications and Abreviews that have not been tested in our own labs or in those of our suppliers are not covered by the Abpromise guarantee.

Target

  • Function

Ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors. In some developmental processes, is also a ligand for the coreceptor RYK, thus triggering Wnt signaling. Probable developmental protein. May be a signaling molecule important in CNS development. Is likely to signal over only few cell diameters.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the Wnt family.
  • Cellular localization

Secreted > extracellular space > extracellular matrix.
  • Target information above from: UniProt accession P04628 The UniProt Consortium

    Question

I have some questions: Do Anti-Wnt1 antibody (Biotin) (ab84243) and Anti-Wnt1 antibody (ab109822) react with different epitops? In other words, can these antibodies be used together for sandwich ELISA? If they can't; can you suggest a wnt-1 antibody pair suitable for sELISA?
Can Wnt1 protein (Active) (ab84080) or Wnt1 peptide (ab95923) be used as positive control in the assay?

    Answer

    Thank you for contacting us.

We have validated ab109822 for use with the biotinylated ab84243 and will guarantee these antibodies for use as an sELISA pair. For the positive control, I would recommend using the full length protein, such as ab84080. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any additional information or assistance.
