    Thank you for contacting us this afternoon in regards to the Anti-Calcipressin 1 antibody [EPR8911], ab140131.

    As discussed over the phone, I have had a look into whether this antibody is likely to be able to detect all isoforms of the mouse Calcipressin 1 protein. This antibody is raised against a synthetic peptide taken from the human Calcipressin 1 protein. Unfortunately, the peptide sequence falls within the N-terminal portion of the protein. From the sequence alignment of the human protein (SwissProt http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P53805) to that of the three mouse isoforms (SwissProt reference http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9JHG6) this immunogen is only present in the isoform 1 and 2 of the mouse protein. Please refer to the attachment of this email for the sequence alignment. The antibody would therefore not be able to detect the third isoform (http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/Q9JHG6#Q9JHG6-3).

    I have had a look at the other antibodies we have directed against this target to see if we have any other antibodies which may be suitable for your experiment. From this, I have found that the goat polyclonal antibody ab136845 should be able to detect all three isoforms of the mouse protein from the immunogen used (residues 145-157 of human Calcipressin 1).

    Alternatively, the immunogen used to raise the antibodies ab80982 and ab83271 indicate that these should also be able to detect the three mouse isoforms. However, only ab80982 has actually been tested with mouse samples and I would therefore not be able to guarantee that it would cross react with the mouse protein.
