RelevanceThe immunosuppressant drug cyclosporin A blocks a calcium dependent signal from the T cell receptor (TCR) that normally leads to T cell activation. When bound to cyclophilin B, cyclosporin A binds and inactivates the key signaling intermediate calcineurin. The protein encoded by this gene functions similarly to cyclosporin A, binding to cyclophilin B and acting downstream of the TCR and upstream of calcineurin by causing an influx of calcium. This integral membrane protein appears to be a new participant in the calcium signal transduction pathway, implicating cyclophilin B in calcium signaling, even in the absence of cyclosporin. HepG2 (human liver hepatocellular carcinoma cell line) cells stained for CAMLG/CAML (green) using ab236655 at 1/100 dilution in ICC/IF. Secondary antibody is Alexa Fluor® 488-congugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L).
CAMLG/CAML was immunoprecipitated from 500 μg HEK-293 (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney) whole cell extract with ab236655 at 1/200 dilution.
Lane 1: Control rabbit IgG (1 μg) IP in HEK-293 whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: ab236655 IP in HEK-293 whole cell lysate.
Lane 3: HEK-293 whole cell lysate (10 μg) Input.
