    We tested the antibody in Mouse samples and in our hand it worked fine in NIH/3T3 cell line but not in other samples (tissue lysates). We received several customer feedback in this species as well where they could not get satisfactory results. Therefore, we decided to not guarantee this species.

    • Function
      Thiol protease that cleaves IL-1 beta between an Asp and an Ala, releasing the mature cytokine which is involved in a variety of inflammatory processes. Important for defense against pathogens. Cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). Can also promote apoptosis.
    • Tissue specificity
      Expressed in larger amounts in spleen and lung. Detected in liver, heart, small intestine, colon, thymus, prostate, skeletal muscle, peripheral blood leukocytes, kidney and testis. No expression in the brain.

      Belongs to the peptidase C14A family.

    • Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin embedded human kidney with purified ab108362 at a dilution of 1/500. A pre-diluted HRP polymer for rabbit/mouse IgG was used as the secondary antibody and the sample was counter-stained with hematoxylin. Antigen retrieval was perfomed using Tris-EDTA buffer, pH 9.0. PBS was used instead of the primary antibody as the negative control, and is shown in the inset.
