  • Function
Involved in the activation cascade of caspases responsible for apoptosis execution. Cleaves poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase in vitro, as well as lamins. Overexpression promotes programmed cell death.
  • Sequence similarities
Belongs to the peptidase C14A family.
  • Post-translational
    modifications
Cleavages by caspase-3, caspase-8 or -10 generate the two active subunits.
  • Cellular localization
    Cytoplasm.
  • Information by UniProt

Answer

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

I have looked into the peptide used to raise the antibody which you are using (ab52295) and the peptide you wish to use as a blocking peptide (ab38263). Unfortunately, the immunogen used to raise ab52295is taken from residues 163 to 179 of human Caspase 6 whilst the blocking peptide is taken from residues surrounding residue 152 of Caspase 6. This means that it is unlikely that the peptide ab38263 will block antibody ab52295. The peptide will block the antibody ab2552.

Unfortunately, we do not have a blocking peptide available for ab52295.

If you would like to try ab2552 as an alternative antibody I may be able to offer you a testing discount. If you could explain what experiments you are hoping to use it for I can see if you would be eligible. This scheme works by you purchasing the antibody, testing it in a new application or species, then letting us know the results (positive or negative) through an Abreview. You would then be eligible for a free antibody of your choice from our catalogue.

I am sorry that I could not bring you better news. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
