FunctionComponent of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1 complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development. PcG PRC1 complex acts via chromatin remodeling and modification of histones; it mediates monoubiquitination of histone H2A 'Lys-119', rendering chromatin heritably changed in its expressibility. Involved in sexual development, acting as activator of NR5A1 expression.

CBX2 was immunoprecipitated from 1mg of HEK-293T (Human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate with ab264295 at 6 µg per reaction. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab264295 at 1 µg/ml.
Lane 1: ab264295 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: ab264295 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 3: ab264295 IP in HEK-293T whole cell lysate.
Lane 4: Control IgG.
Exposure time: 30 secs.
