    Cooperates with MD-2 and TLR4 to mediate the innate immune response to bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Acts via MyD88, TIRAP and TRAF6, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response. Up-regulates cell surface molecules, including adhesion molecules.

  • Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis of mouse liver tissue section labeling CD14 with ab182032. The tissue was fixed with formaldehyde, heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed followed by blocking with 5% serum for 12 hours at 4°C. The tissue was incubated with undiluted Anti-CD14 antibody [4B4F12] (ab182032) for 12 hours at 4°C.
