Function
CD2 interacts with lymphocyte function-associated antigen (LFA-3) and CD48/BCM1 to mediate adhesion between T-cells and other cell types. CD2 is implicated in the triggering of T-cells, the cytoplasmic domain is implicated in the signaling function. -
Sequence similarities
Contains 1 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain.
Contains 1 Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. -

Flow Cytometry analysis of Jurkat (human acute T cell leukemia) cells labeling CD2 with unpurified ab131276 at 1/20 dilution (red). The secondary antibody was Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488) at 1/2000 dilution. A Rabbit monoclonal IgG (Black) was used as the isotype control and cells without incubation with primary antibody and secondary antibody (Blue) were used as unlabeled control.
