Properties

Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab84019 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 53 kDa. Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.

Target

  • Function

Provides CDP-diacylglycerol an important precursor for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns), phosphatidylglycerol, and cardiolipin. Overexpression may amplify cellular signaling responses from cytokines. May also play an important role in the signal transduction mechanism of retina and neural cells.
  • Tissue specificity

Expressed in adult tissues such as placenta, brain, small intestine, ovary, testis and prostate. Highly expressed in fetal kidney, lung and brain. Lower level in fetal liver.
  • Pathway

    Phospholipid metabolism; CDP-diacylglycerol biosynthesis; CDP-diacylglycerol from sn-glycerol 3-phosphate: step 3/3.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the CDS family.
  • Cellular localization

Endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Cytoplasmic aspect of the endoplasmic reticulum.

Question
Answer

Thanks for your call today and I'm sorry that this antibody did not work as expected. I have issued a discount code, which will be activated by submitting an Abreview of ab84019 with rat samples. You canredeem this discount code for any primary antibody of your choosing within the next 4 months by passing it on to Cedarlane, but please keep in mind that our other CDS1 antibody, ab88121, has also not been tested with rat samples and we are unable to guarantee the results in rat.

Please see below for the information about our testing discount program, and let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else that we can do for you.

DISCOUNT CODE: ***
Expiration date: June 9, 2012

This code will give you 1 freeprimary antibodybefore the expiration date. To redeem this offer, please submit an Abreview for ab84019 with rat samples and include this code in the “Additional Comments” section so we know the Abreview is for this promotion. Answer

Thank you again for your call yesterday, and also for your patience while I have looked through some literature as well as through the Western blot images.

I do have a couple of additional questions to clarify this data, as I haven't worked with the CDS1 protein in my own research. Is the human lymphocyte mitochondrial lysate a negative or positive control? I have found some data indicating that CDS1 is present in the mitochondria but expression in the hematopoetic line seems to be very low. Also, do you expect high expression of the protein in heart tissue?

From the images,I agree thatthe antibody is non-specifically binding to several proteins and might be binding to a specific CDS1 protein in lane 2 and very weakly lanes 6 and 6 around 50 kDa, though I'm not sure why there is such as difference between the band in lane 2 and the other heart samples. Were these samples taken from different animals, or is there anything else that might explain a difference of CDS1 expression?

We do guarantee all of our products to work in tested species and applications, and though we have not tested ab84019 with rat samples, we do guarantee it to work with positive control samples from human origin. I would be happy to send a replacement like ab88121 or alternatively issue a credit or refund if that is the case.

I look forward to hearing from you, and I'm sorry I don't have any specific recommendations to fix the issue at this time. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else that we can do for you, and feel free to give me a call if you prefer to discuss this over the phone (you can call 888-772-2226 and just ask to speak to me).
