Target

  • Relevance

HTR12 is a histone H3-like variant which exclusively replaces conventional H3 in the nucleosome core of centromeric chromatin at the inner plate of the kinetochore. It is required for recruitment and assembly of kinetochore proteins, mitotic progression and chromosome segregation and may serve as an epigenetic mark that propagates centromere identity through replication and cell division.
  • Cellular localization

Nucleus. Centromere. Kinetochore. Note=Localizes exclusively in the kinetochore domain of centromeres.

    Question

I would like to know what epitope was used for its production and if possible any references and its specificity towards CENH3 compared to other histones.

    Answer

Unfortunately the immunogen sequence is considered proprietary (commercially sensitive and confidential) and I can not disclose it at this time. However, I can confirm that the immunogen is a peptide of 20 amino acids located between 1 and 40 amino acids of the A. thaliana HTR12.

There are currently no references for ab72001. Regarding cross reactivity, the lab have confirmed that ab72001 shows no cross-reactivity with other histones.

    Answer

Thank you very much for contacting us with your question.

Unfortunately the immunogen sequence is considered commercially sensitive and we can not disclose it at this time. I can onlyconfirm that it is taken from the first 100 N-terminal amino acids.

If you'd like to describe the experiment that you would like to design, I may be able to help you further. Could you tell me what kind of assay you're planningto run and what kind of samples you will use?

I look forward to hearing from you.I am sorry thatI do not have the information that you're looking for, but if you have further questions or if there is anything else that we can do for you, please let me know and I'll be happy to help.
