Product nameCholine chloride, choline acetyltransferase substrate
DescriptionQuaternary ammonium salt. Choline acetyltransferase substrate.
- (2-Hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium chloride
- 2-hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethylethanaminium chloride
Acyl group acceptor and choline acetyltransferase substrate. Important as a precursor of acetylcholine, as a methyl donor in various metabolic processes, and in lipid metabolism. Used as an additive in animal food. Used in Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) which are utilized as green and inexpensive alternatives to classical ionic liquids.
Chemical name2-Hydroxy-N,N,N-trimethylethanaminium chloride
Storage instructionsStore at -20°C. Store under desiccating conditions. The product can be stored for up to 12 months.
Solubility overviewSoluble in DMSO to 100 mM, in water to 100 mM and in ethanol to 100 mM
Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Generally, these will be useable for up to one month. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.
