Binds both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA with higher affinity for the single-stranded form. Specifically binds to scaffold/matrix attachment region DNA. Also binds single-stranded RNA. Enhances RNA unwinding activity of DDX39A. May participate in important transcriptional or translational control of cell growth, metabolism and carcinogenesis. -
Tissue specificity
Low expression in spleen, liver, pancreas, testis, thymus, heart, and kidney. Increased levels are seen in hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. -

CIP29 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab225694 at 6 µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab225694 at 0.4 µg/ml.
Lane 1: ab225694 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 10 seconds.
