What is the stability of this product once dissolved in water? Might it damage the product to sonicate?

There is the possibility of slow ligand-exchange for cisplatin dissolved in water. Our usual advice is to prepare and use solutions on the same day. In this case we strongly suggest that the solution should be used immediately as the product is classed as unstable. Sonicating and gently warming the product for the minimal time for complete solubilisation could actually help because the product will be dissolved more quickly, and therefore have less chance to undergo ligand exchange. There is also the alternative suggestion to dissolve the product in 0.9 % w/w NaCl, which reduces ligand exchange an enhances stability of dissolved cisplatin.
