Target

  • Relevance

Clostridium difficile Toxin B (tcdB or ToxB) is a glucosyltranferase which is known to innactivate Rho, Cdc42 and Rac within target cells. This toxin is encoded on a pathogenicity region of the C. difficile chromossome and is expressed during the log and stationary phases of growth in response to a variety of environmental stimuli.

Answer

Question

Dear Abcam,   I have purchsed a number of clostridium Ab from you recently and am writing to request further information on the the protein and antibodies.   For ab83066 do you have the sequence of the protein.  has this antibody been raised against the entire 60 kDa N terminal region (if so which strain is this based on) or against a fragement/region of the N terminal. do you have any details on the production of the recombinant  fragment and how it was produced in E.coli.   For ab77582-  can you provide any further information on the antibody, what it recognises how it was produced.   Thanking you for your help

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry. ab83066: To generate the antisera for this antibody a recombinant GST-fused N-terminal 60 kDa catalytic fragment (which showed glycosylation activity with Rac and Rho) was used. I am sorry we do not have any information about which strain it was based on. ab77582: Unfortunately, we do not have information about the actual antibody binding site. The epitope was not mapped. But I can confirm that this antibody is specific to Clostridium difficile Toxin B and will not cross react with Clostridium difficile Toxin A. I hope this information was helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact me again with any further questions.
