  • Target

    • Relevance
CNAP1/hCAP-D2 is a regulatory subunit of the condensin complex, a complex required for conversion of interphase chromatin into mitotic-like condensed chromosomes. The condensin complex probably introduces positive supercoils into relaxed DNA in the presence of type I topoisomerases and converts nicked DNA into positive knotted forms in the presence of type II topoisomerases. It may target the condensin complex to DNA via its C-terminal domain (referenced from Swissprot).

    • Image courtesy of Human Protein Atlas ab34338 staining CNAP1 in human testis, showing a predominantly nuclear staining pattern in cells of the seminiferous tubule. Paraffin embedded human testis tissue was incubated with ab34338 (1/100 dilution) for 30 mins at room temperature. Antigen retrieval was performed by heat induction in citrate buffer pH 6.

ab34338 was tested in a tissue microarray (TMA) containing a wide range of normal and cancer tissues. Further results for this antibody can be found at
