ab248031 is the carrier-free version of ab124874 This format is designed for use in antibody labeling, including fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, enzymes.
Our carrier-free formats are supplied in a buffer free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency.
Use our conjugation kits for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
Ab248031 is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm.
Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.
Mouse, Rat: We have preliminary internal testing data to indicate this antibody may not react with these species. Please contact us for more information.
This product is a recombinant monoclonal antibody, which offers several advantages including:

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab248031 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
|ICC/IF||Use at an assay dependent concentration.|
|WB||Use at an assay dependent concentration. Detects a band of approximately 55, 48, 27 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 52 kDa).
Note: The 48-kDa form is generated by proteolytic cleavage at the C-terminus. This subunit is cleaved into a peptide.
FunctionProtects the body from potent vasoactive and inflammatory peptides containing C-terminal Arg or Lys (such as kinins or anaphylatoxins) which are released into the circulation.
Tissue specificitySynthesized in the liver and secreted in plasma.
Involvement in diseaseDefects in CPN1 are the cause of carboxypeptidase N deficiency (CPND) [MIM:212070]. Patients affected present some combination of angioedema or chronic urticaria, as well as hay fever or astma, and have also slightly depressed serum carboxy peptidase N, suggestive of autosomal recessive inheritance of this disorder.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the peptidase M14 family.
Cellular localizationSecreted > extracellular space.
