Question (62815) | Creatine Assay Kit (Colorimetric/Fluorometric) (ab65339)

Go to datasheet (ab65339)

Is this kit suitable for differentiation between phospho and non phospho form of creatine?

Thank you for your phone call.

I can confirm that this kit will not be able to distinguish between phospho-creatine and creatine molecules. The enzyme used in this kit Creatine Amidinohydrolase which converts creatine into Sarcosine.

If you are interested in determining the level of phpspho-creatine then one way is converting all the phospho-creatine to creatine using Creatinine Amidohydrolase enzyme.

By subtracting the value of creatine from total creatine, will give you the phospho-creatine level.

I hope this information will be helpful. Should you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact me.
