    Receptor for the CX3C chemokine fractalkine and mediates both its adhesive and migratory functions. Acts as coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 virus envelope protein (in vitro). Isoform 2 and isoform 3 seem to be more potent HIV-1 coreceptors than isoform 1.

Thank you for contacting us. I am happy to hear that your customer has exciting results. I suggest to include additional control to verify these results: The blocking peptide can be used to show that the antibody binds specifically. If the antibody is incubated with the blocking peptide before incubating the samples, the specific staining will not appear (compare to slide without blocking peptide). ab8125 (CX3CR1 peptide) Click here (or use the following: https://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=8125). I can also recommend to run positive and negative controls along side the actual sample. If still in doubt, I suggest to use an additional antibody against CX3CR1 that was raised against a different immunogen. If both show the same staining your customer has a strong case to believe their results. Review text: Used as a control for blocking the activity of anti-CX3CR1 (ab8021) in immunohistochemistry frozen sections. Peptide was incubated with an equal volume of antibody at 37*C for 30 mins before applying to sections diluted 1:400 in PBS.
